My daughter is really enjoying it, Family environment. Not only it teahers you self defense but also discipline, confidence and respect and balance.

Dedication and Discipline

First Tae Kwon Do Thornlie teaches a non-competitive style of martial arts which ingrains students of any age with strong values of discipline, respect and perseverance through the commitment and dedication shown by the instructors at the branch. There is a strong family atmosphere at Thornile with many of the students and instructors being family members as well as a range of ages from 5 years old to 50 years old. The instructors are experienced teachers and leaders and encourage students to always strive for excellence in everything that they do. I would highly recommend First Tae Kwon Do Thornile for any families wishing to do a physical activity together or to children who are looking to improve their self-confidence and discipline.

Art of well-being

First tae kwon do - thornlie , provides quality instruction and service with a view towards the overall health and well-being of every participant.

Family friendly

My 2 youngest daughters joined First Taewkondo Thornlie over a year ago . It was highly recommended from a friend . We wanted our daughters to be strong in both body and mind , as well as build self confidence. They are growing and developing new skills all the time . They have developed great self confidence and discipline. They love challenging their physical abilities on a regular basis and setting new goals. I also joined with my daughters just over 6 months ago , and thoroughly enjoy the challenge. Instructor Beard , and all the black belt instructors are truly amazing ,helpful and very approachable, with a great knowledge of the art . Thank you

Positive Enviroment

I have been training with First Tae Kwon Do Thornlie for some time now and have enjoyed every class . All the Instructors are highly trained individuals that have been training for many years and are always positive in attitude and are always there to help. I would recommend this class to any person . Just turn up and give it a go. You will definitely enjoy it. Many thanks to everyone !!

best place on earth

Joining Wilkes was the best thing i have ever done. Ive met the most supportive people there and are proud to call them my friends the instructor team are the most kindest and helpful people iver ever met. joining in 2011 was the best decision ive ever made and would never look back. i love recommendeding this place to people because i know its a wonderful place with wonderful people and i have never been so fit. in the last year ive lost 10kgs and 2 dress sizes just from the classes witch are hard but the most fun. between the fitness classes, bjj classes and martial arts classes I pretty much live there and i love it.

Best Life Decision i Have Made

I have been training with Wilkes since 2012, I turn 41 this year and I dont remember feeling as fit, sharp, confident and balanced in a long time. The atmosphere/vibe created within the gym is a sanctuary from pressures of the outside world, the instructors are dedicated and passionate about their art and the progression of all students be it the 3yr olds through to the "older" people like myself. Egos are left at the door and everyone is in there to assist and bring the best out in everyone else regardless of experience and rank. Anyone thinking of signing their child or children up, I could not recommend Wilkes more highly, the quality and substance in the kids classes are not just self-defence and fitness but crucial life skills including respect, courtesy, integrity and dedication. All in all a fantastic environment to train in, a fantastic group of people, quite possible one of the best decisions I have made was walking through the door and getting started.

Not just for the serious athletes.

I joined Wilkes Academy in 2013 after realising that 25 years of trying every fad diet available had left me a middle aged very overweight man susceptible to diabetes and a shortened life expectancy. My wife and daughter had already joined and I had been along to watch a few times, never even daring to think I could do what they were doing. I was asked a few times by Mr Mitchell if I'd like to join in, but I managed to find an excuse every time. Eventually I plucked up the courage to have a crack at it, fully expecting to feel humiliated. What I discovered was a family of instructors and students who are absolutely dedicated to helping people set a goal and realise it, to get fit and have a laugh at the same time, and to learn a skill that both gives you focus away from life's worries and in the unfortunate event that you need to rely on it, would give you a good chance of defending and protecting yourself in a controlled way. Eighteen months later, I am 16kg lighter, fitter, happier, healthier and the proud wearer of a blue belt. I had no confidence that I would last a month when I signed up, but now I can't imagine not having this aim, and these friends, in my life. My ten year old daughter has her education and attitude assessed prior to every grading and this has proved to be very effective in making her want to 'do the right thing' as well as giving her the ability to defend herself also. We pay a very reasonable weekly membership fee and can attend as many classes as we wish. This is not only martial arts classes, but also general fitness classes. Wilkes Academy has changed lots of things about me, but most importantly it has given me a life that I previously thought was out of my reach. Needless to say, I would recommend them to not only the serious athletes, of which there are many in the Academy, but also to the people like me that need the guidance to change their lifestyle and lose weight and get fit.

Hughes Dance Como
Score 1 from 1 review(s)
Dance classes for age 3 years and older in acro, ballet, jazz and tap.
Absolutely disgusted, stay away!!

I enrolled my daughters in Hughes "dance school" and the instructor Shelby was very rude! Within 10 minutes she'd made my kids cry (it was the youngest one's birthday too), was very unfriendly and rude, and not encouraging at all. Definitely in the wrong career. I've seen many dance schools and this one is the absolute worst!

Couldn't be happier with this place. Hidden treasure.

An amazing facility, amazing staff, amazing ethos. We had no idea where to send our daughter for kindy and took a chance with this beautiful little community kindergarten. I and more importantly my daughter could not be happier, it's a truly wonderful place for kids to begin their education journey.

A lovely place for kids

This is a beautiful kindergarten just for 4 year olds. It is place based and low pressure for both the kids and the parents. I have a kid there and I love the fact that it is not connected to a school and his first year of education can be without all the stuctures and intimitations of a larger school environment.

This is a beautiful kindy, the kids are cared for and allowed to develop at their own rate. It is play based and relaxed. It is cheap because it is run by the ed department but you don't have to be in area to attend so it make a fabulous start to schooling.

Great teacher!

I was looking for a good piano teacher for two years and finally a friend suggested Lyvia Chai. She taught me for several years. - strict, precise but also very nice and friendly - ask her anything and she'll know the answer - technical and expressive - has resources to anything - prepares you for exams really well - lets you choose the pieces Overall the best piano teacher I had!
