Great skate lessons for the kids!

    28-01-2019 by Karen Picton

Danny was amazing, both my kids (6 & 4 years) who had barely been on a board before could skate by the end of the lesson. Danny' approach was fantastic and my daughter who always usually cries when trying something new was all dried eye and engaged with the lesson! Thank you Danny!

    Recommend the School Holiday Program

    25-04-2016 by Matt

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Danny from Skate-now and using his services during the school holidays. I organised a group skateboard lesson for a group of energetic boys of ranging in age and skill level. Danny was awesome with the boys and immediately had the attention due to his friendly nature and skill on the skateboard. They all loved the lesson and most importantly had fun and a great time. All the boys improved significantly and developed confidence, they progressed from learning how to get on and off the board, to turning corners, to doing tricks and finally the obstacle course. I will definitely use skate now again and would recommend to everyone. Matt

    Sensational Kids Party Idea

    12-11-2015 by Jayne

My 6 year old son is mad about skateboarding so we decided on a skateboard party for his 6th birthday. We stumbled across Danny and Claudia on the Internet and were not disappointed! We were so impressed with their enthusiasm and ability to actually teach the kids who were between 6 and 9 years old some basic skills within a short time. Each child improved significantly but most importantly had the best time! They went from learning how to get on and off the board, to turning corners, to doing tricks and finally going over ramps and jumps. Incredible! Danny and Claudia were so patient and clearly have a love of what they are doing. Plus Matthew’s party has gone down as one of the best amongst his friends! Would highly recommend! Jayne

    Fantastic Program for the Kids

Skate Now has been running a skateboarding program for our organisation for over a year now and I would definitely recommend their service to other community groups. As well as skateboarding skills, the kids have developed confidence, social skills and are engaging in a healthy activity. Holly - community youth worker PCYC

Just breathe – 3 calming techniques for you and your child

Our breath is our Guru, it doesn’t have to be some long-bearded old guy sat in a cave up a mountain in India. It’s inside us, we all have it. Check-in with yourself in this very moment. How are you feeling right now? Take a minute to watch what your breath is doing. If you are relaxed you will find that your breath is slow and calm. If you’re having a difficult day you may find that your breath is short and shallow. Our breath centres how we feel and it influences how we respond to wh...

4 reasons why every kid should practice yoga

Essentially yoga is about balance – creating equanimity to live a peaceful life in good health and in harmony with the world around us. Yoga for kids is fun and playful but it also teaches children how to be comfortable in their own skin. It develops personal strength which comes from within and not from an external source which can fade, change or leave. Here are 4 reasons why I believe encouraging your child to practice yoga is one of the best things you can do for them:1. Practicing yoga ke...

How kids yoga aids school readiness

This is the time of year when excited preschoolers and their families go to their ‘Big School’ orientations. Much of the year has been spent learning letters, numbers and alike. All this knowledge is a great foundation; however research shows us that focusing on socio-emotional skills is the best way to set kids up for success. 5 fun partner poses to do with your kids

Kids are natural yogis and they love to play. Sharing your practice together is a great way to connect on a physical, mental and emotional level. It’s also an opportunity for us to reconnect with the child we once were. Last term I told my Little Lotus class that I often face-plant during my personal practice. This was met with shock and surprise. Showing kids that we fall over, even as adults, is really important. It demonstrates that it’s OK to fall; all you have to do is get back up a...
