    5 stars for Gymbaroo Joondalup

    14-03-2017 by Jen

My daughter first attended Gymbaroo when she was 3 months old and continued until she finished the School Readiness program. The staff and program were outstanding. I certainly credit Gymbaroo for establishing good foundations for my daughter to have a successful transition to schooling, both in the classroom and for sports. We love Gymbaroo and would highly recommend the Joondalup centre to all parents.

    Pre-school skills

    08-02-2017 by Katie Wild

We have been very lucky to have attended classes at the Joondalup centre for many years with our 3 children. Each child has completed the full course of Gymbaroo and our youngest graduated 2016. During a teacher parent interview the teacher commented on how well adjusted to Kindy she was and how she followed instructions, would sit quietly, ask questions and pay attention appropriately. The teacher suggested her exposure to the Gymbaroo program had enabled her smooth transition into the school learning environment. The teachers and staff at the Joondalup centre have all been fantastic in caring for my children and guiding them in their development. Although my children didn't meet typical developmental milestones this was no hindrance and the program enabled us to work on the areas they needed to strengthen. I highly recommend Joondalup Gymbaroo to other families.

Answer from Gymbaroo (Joondalup) on 08-02-2017:
Thanks for taking the time to review our centre! It's great to hear how well the children settle into the school environment once they finish at GymbaROO.

    Mountain Bike Orienteering

    Dates: from 30 Nov -1 to 30 Nov -1

Mountain bike orienteering (MTBO) is a navigation sport suitable for participants of all ages and abilities. Like foot orienteering, the idea is to navigate your way around a series of checkpoints (controls) using a map and compass. Unlike foot orienteering, the idea is to ride a bike! The main difference is that in Australia, mountain bikes have to stay on tracks, so the style of navigation can be quite different to the cross-country navigation used in foot orienteering. Several courses are available, ranging from 10-30 km in length. At the top end of the field, competitors need good technical bike handling skills and the ability to navigate at speed. However, the shorter courses are easily achievable by beginners, non-mountain bikers and families. Nav Dash

    Dates: from 30 Nov -1 to 30 Nov -1

Nav Dash events, Orienteering WA's Sprint Orienteering Series are short distance (2-3.5 km's), usually held in a small, compact area with complex features, such as the buildings and passages of a university campus. While the navigation skills required are relatively easy – even for novices – at a slow jog or walking pace, the more serious competitors try to run their course at high speed. This makes the navigation much more demanding and it is easy to make small mistakes of a few seconds, which makes all the difference in these fast events! There will be several events in the 2015 Nav Dash Series at regular intervals during Autumn and Winter, culminating in the State Sprint Championships later in the year.
