    Story Lab holiday workshops

    Young creatives are invited to step into the Story Lab to explore the world of digital technology! Join industry professionals for exciting new workshops using creative programs including Story Scrapbook and MaKey MaKey, plus the very popular Scratch and stop motion animation workshops. These creative hands-on sessions are specially designed to cater for different age groups and learning styles. Workshops sell out quickly so book early to avoid disappointment. For ages 8–14. *Please note workshops run from Monday to Friday. $70 per workshop (materials included)

    Grab your dad and head to the Queen Street Mall for loads of reading fun! Join Kevin Sheedy, Rupert McCall, Tim Jackman and Getano Bann as we celebrate the importance of dads reading with their kids. There’ll be sing-alongs, story time, craft stations and more. Dads Read is a State Library of Queensland initiative, raising awareness of the importance and benefits of fathers and families reading with their children. Reading with your children not only helps them to develop a love of reading, but also strengthens their literacy skills, models positive reading behaviour and builds children’s self-esteem around reading which is a fundamental life skill.
