We are a traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym based in Wollongong, Engadine and Taren Point. We are proud to have qualified instructors, with extensive teaching experience, and respected in the martial arts industry.

At Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu we believe that Jiu Jitsu is for everyone. We encourage people from 3 to 90 years old to come and train with us. It is a safe and harmless sport.

Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu is the perfect environment for kids and adults to make friends, learn self defense, build confidence, learn how to deal with failure (the more you fail the more you learn, the more you learn the more you succeed), develop the ability to be patient (Jiu jitsu takes time), relieve stress, learn humility (please leave your ego outside), build healthy approach to eating and soon

Kids develop a sense of discipline which results from the never give up attitude that Jiu Jitsu instils in people.Jiu Jitsu is an evolving sport, people are constantly developing and winning with new techniques.

Our Sensei Bernardo Trekko is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Vinicius Aieta (head coach of Gracie Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) since 2004. He has been training Jiu-Jitsu on a daily basis for over 20 years. Bernardo also lives the Jiu-Jitsu life style bringing to his life all the benefits that Jiu-Jitsu can offer, such as calm and happiness, confidence, hard work, perseverance, etc. Bernardo started training Jiu-Jitsu when he was 14 years old. 3 years after that he got the first place in the podium in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship. He continued to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to improve his skills in Rio de Janeiro until April 2008. Bernardo came to Australia in 2008. He is very proud to acquire his Australian Citizenship through Jiu-Jitsu. Bernardo lodged the Distinguished Talent Visa whereby Department of Immigration recognized his prominent and outstanding skills in this sport.
