Film and TV Showreel Making weekend workshop high school students
From 04-05-2018 to 06-05-2018
Drama With A Difference is one of Australia's leading, independent drama schools. With a history that spans more than twenty years, it is also the launching pad of many successful Australian actors. Our students have appeared in major lead roles and support roles in high profile international feature films, Australian television series, advertisements and professional theatre productions. If you navigate our website, you will find bone-fide names of actors who began with us, as well as a comprehensive list of most of the the TV shows, movies and theatre productions that our students have appeared in.
This course is open to all high school students, regardless of whether or not they wish to become actors. Students seeking fun, self-esteem, and confidence are as welcome on this course as are aspiring actors.
Nevertheless, if your teenager IS a budding young aspiring actor who wants to get started in the industry, this is the ideal course for them. We will not only be teaching extensive film and TV techniques, but will also provide interested students with a "Showreel" at the conclusion of the course.
A Showreel is an essential part of any actor's tool-kit. It is a very short amount of the actors work on film, that we can organise to have uploaded to a password protected site on the internet for you. If you are then approaching an agent for your child, you will have something to show of your child's ability, type, look etc... by giving the said agent a link to the Showreel on the internet. The advantage of this is the fact that the best agents usually only take actors whose work they have seen.
Even if the Showreel does not result in obtaining an agent (and we will give you a list of reputable, ethical ones only!), you can still promote yourself directly to casting directors; we will provide their details as well and explain how the industry works in this respect.
