Performing Arts Events for Kids

An accessible drama class for 12 young people aged 14-26 with an intellectual disability. Participating with others in fun inclusive drama exercises and improvisational games gives young people an outlet for their creative expression, builds confidence and develops communication skills. The course will culminate in a short performance for family and friends at the year’s end.

Applause Musical Theatre Academy is delighted to present a double bill - The Jungle Book KIDS and Aladdin KIDS! The jungle is jumpin' with a jazzy beat in Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS. This production features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie. Welcome to Agrabah and the Academy Award-winning adventure of the street rat that became a prince! This Ballroom dance class is perfect for those of us who are flat-out busy through the week. Instead of getting home after work on a week night and then rushing through dinner to go out again come to our Saturday afternoon Social class. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere is a soothing way to learn to dance and to exercise by stealth. This class runs from 2.00pm – 3.30pm. Cost $15.00 per person, per lesson.

In June and November each year, Wendy's Music school students have the opportunity to perform for family and friends in a supportive yet professional style environment.

This 9-week teen acting course is aimed at young actors from 11-16 years old, who aspire to a professional career. It is a standalone course in its own right as well as a pathway into adult Meisner classes later on. The Wollongong-Illawarra Choir / Vocal Ensemble runs weekly in West Wollongong every Thursday night 7:30pm-8:30pm – within each NSW school term. It is open to anyone, ages 17 and up. Any level of experience is welcome. It is only $10 for your first visit, and only $5 thereafter billed for the remainder of the current term (1 to 11 weeks). Therefore, the absolute maximum amount you’ll pay per term is $60! Group singing is fun and social, and a great way to destress and feel happy! Come and join us.
