Welcome to Tans Taekwondo, the leaders in martial arts in Brisbane, Queensland. On 1st February 1973 Michael Tan started his marital arts journey. Now 45 years later he still enjoys passing on the benefits of martial arts to all his students. Young and old, we have changed thousands of lives through the benefits of martial arts. We offer classes in Taekwondo, hapkido and kumdo.

Tans Coorparoo is one of the only full time purpose built centres in Brisbane. Established in 2010, there are 5 Classes each afternoon structured for age and ability. From 4 to 70. Age is no boundary to a healthier and happy life.

Grandmaster Michael Tan is one of only three 9th dan bo black belts in Queensland. Apart from Coorparoo, Grandmaster oversees more than 2000 students throughout Australia. Grandmaster teaches 6 days per and enjoys seeing new students develop to become better people.

    For Teenagers.
    “We really appreciate you taking Devon on and helping him achieve BB, we couldn’t think of a better coach in QLD to mentor him and teach him. Thanks for letting us be a part of your Tans Family. I remember when Devon first started when he was 7 and he cried his eyes out (he was such a shy boy) . He ended up becoming the first one out on the floor, a teacher to the younger students and displayed the confidence I hoped he would achieve in such a short amount of time, as he went up in his belts he became even more and more assure of himself. I will always credit Taekwondo as being a big part of who he is today and I must say he is a pretty darn good young man.”

    Womens Taekwondo classes
    I felt welcome from the first lesson and was surprised at how much I learned in the first few lessons. The great community feel and quality teaching made me feel like I could progress really well at Tan’s.

    Taekwondo for the family
    My Daughter Billie loves Taekwondo, it is great to see how much confidence she has and how this confidence has assisted her with her first year at school. I encourage more little girls to take up the sport. I have now taken it up and train with other mums and dads..

    Taekwondo for Adults
    I would recommend anyone of any age to join Tan’s. The atmosphere at his club is very friendly and family orientated. Grand Master Tan has the depth of experience that we all can learn from to improve out lives. I am privileged to be able to give this testimonial.
