A non-profit Children's Community Choir that welcomes boys and girls of all abilities (no auditions required) from 5yrs to 16yrs who love to sing.

Our director, Janet Blenkinsop, started the non-profit, North Coastal Children's Choir in 2015. She was determined to give children from all backgrounds and all abilities from the far north coast the opportunity to sing in a choir, just like she was given in her early years when living in the UK.

The choir is about making new friends, developing skills in singing, reading music, teamwork and gaining confidence through performances throughout the year. In 2021 our youngest member was 5 with the eldest, 13. With the help of our main sponsor, City of Wanneroo, and time donated by Janet, committee and parents, means we can provide the choir at a very affordable rate ( $3 donation per week), so any child no matter what their background can join.

We do not audition, we believe that if you love to sing then Janet, as a classically trained artist, will teach all you need to know to sing safely.

Children are encouraged to showcase their talents and are coached (FREE of charge) one on one if they would like to sing a solo at many of our performances throughout the year.

Over the years the choir has performed an ensemble musicals I'm Gonna Let It Shine at the Limelight Theatre, Wanneroo, Oliver at Padbury Hall, multiple performances at our local RAFFA and retirement villages, Bunnings, Sunsets Sounds Christmas Concert, Wanneroo citizenship ceremonies and The Wanneroo Show as well as Christmas Carol performances for friends and family.

Janet teaches children to sing in tune by a piano accompanist and professional singer. Backing tracks are used wisely.

We also encourage children who play an instrument to join us and play their instrument at our performances.

Rehearsals run during term time

Juniors ( 5- 8 years ) 4pm- 4.30pm
Seniors ( 8-16 years) 4.45pm- - 5.30pm OR 3pm till 3.45

Children can experience the joy of singing and making new friends before committing to the choir. They will be taught vocal warm ups and how to sing like a professional.

The North Coastal Childrens Community Choir rehearsals start Wednesday 26 April 2023 to Dec 2023 at Quinns Mindarie community centre, 2 Quinns road, Mindarie. Rehearsals are every Wednesday:-
Seniors age 9yrs to 16 yrs 3pm till 3.45 or 4.45 till 5.30pm
Juniors age 5yrs to 8yrs 4pm till 4.30pm
No auditions required has Vocal training is given. Membership 10.00 a year. Weekly contribution 3.00. The choir for boys and girls is a non profit association supported by, city of Wanneroo, Lotterywest and local businesses.
