L.I.K.E.Dance studio Sydney

Dear Team! We had an absolutely amazing weekend at Rainbow Dance Competition AU. We are so thankful to our amazing teachers for all the work they've put in to perfect the skills and to create amazing routines. Also, it wouldn't be possible without the commitment and support of the families - all the help with costumes, hair, makeup and time you put in. Finally, our dancers are absolute SUPERSTARS and we couldn't be more proud! We presented a total of 27 routines: solos, duets, trios and group dances in the styles of jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, ethnic and acro dance. We received a FANTASTIC response from the international judges across ALL styles and age groups! The highest possible score in this competition is 'Double Platinum'. A total of 18 of our routines were awarded Double Platinum, and the remaining 9 received Platinum awards. In addition to this, 14 dances, that's more than half, received a High Point award, which means that they received the highest scores across all styles within their age group. Moreover, SEVEN dances received the highest score in their respective styles: 2x Best Acro Dance Performance, 2x Best Jazz Performance, 1x Best Hip-hop Performance, 1x Best Contemporary Performance and 1x Best Ethnic Performance. But it doesn't end there. Four "Judges Choice" awards, which are given to "groups displaying outstanding qualities", and the Mascot award, which is given to "one outstanding soloist in the age category 8 and under". Finally, we also have not one, not two, but THREE finalist Ultimate Dancers! The full list of awards and names will be published on our website in the next few days. Again, thank you TEAM. We are super excited about our upcoming workshop with Jessica Starr, who is an amazing choreographer and director of the Muse Dance Company in LA. The creative team that drives the MusEffect vision has over 21 years in the Hollywood Commercial Industry. Creative Director and Choreographer Jessica Starr has worked intimately, for productions such as Elton John’s Vegas Show, The Red Piano, H&M’s Romeo & Juliet Campaign, Jennifer Lopez’s MTV show, Dance Life and most recently Starr played a key role in Reebok’s rebranding of the Delta Logo. Working within major networks such as MTV and VH1 has given Starr in depth experience in both the creative and logistical aspects of the Entertainment Industry. Please don't miss the opportunity to be taught by high professionals!

We are extremely proud of our outstanding teachers. We believe that good teachers play a significant role in making us who we are. We are happy to introduce our new dance teacher Kylie Clare. (Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary,Broadway jazz, Musical Theatre, Hip hop, Acrobatics, Singing, Drama, Choreographer). Kylie Clare has been performing ever since she was old enough to hold a microphone and started her dance training very young, completing it at Brent Street Studio as a full time dance student. Kylie is trained in Cecchetti Ballet and RAD, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Singing and Drama. Kylie has her Certificate IV in Dance Performance and has completed teaching certificates in Contemporary, Jazz and Tap in addition to her Certificates IV&V in Physical Education. She is currently completing her Sports Science degree at ACPE University. Throughout her career as a performer (dancer, actor, singer) she has had extensive television and film experience cast in many roles. Kylie has been teaching dance and singing for over 18 years, teaching recreational and advanced students. Fostering a love of dance and performance in her students is the key to her teaching success. Kylie is an excellent performance coach preparing talented students for auditions and eisteddfod routines. Kylie has written and produced several original Musicals over the years, some of which have been staged professionally in theatres. Very welcome ,Kylie to L.I.K.E. Dance Family!
