Eastern Taekwondo is based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We offer Taekwondo and Self Defence Classes in a Fun and Friendly Environment. There is no previous martial arts experience necessary. Our classes are designed for all ages. We have affordable classes and offer family discounts and free trial lessons. Its never too late to start changing your life. Our instructors have over 40 years experience in martial arts and are holders of Kukkiwon Dan Certificates.
Taekwondo is an art of self-defence that originated in Korea reaching back over 2000 years. It is recognised as one of the oldest forms of martial arts and is today practiced by millions of people around the world. The name was selected for its appropriate description of the art. The literal translation for Taekwondo is kicking, punching, and the art or way of.
Taekwondo is not just kicking and punching. A big part of the training is general self-defence and formwork (Poomsae).
Poomsae and patterns are a sequence of movements where students practice their techniques against one or more imaginary assailants.
Taekwondo training will improve students strength, flexibility and confidence.
The hardest part of learning the art of Taekwondo is to step into the training room for the first time. Taekwondo practitioners are renowned as disciplined, respectful and friendly people.
