Dates: from 30 Nov -1 to 30 Nov -1
This is a course that involves rehearsing a full length play over a period of several months. Students then perform an actual full length season of the play that will be publicised to a wide audience.
As the play has large roles, students will share the role they have with another actor; meaning that each actor will perform 1/2 the shows in the actual season itself. This will enable greater flexibility for teenagers, in terms of the other commitments in their lives.
The production is be a semi-professional As distinct from amateur theatre, the director will be a seasoned professional, who will teach acting along with the direction. The play will have a professional publicist and we will also invite casting directors and agents from the industry to see the play. (We have many contacts in the industry as our organisation is made up of professional theatre/film/TV practitioners).
Our school is the launching pad of many successful Australian actors. Many of our past and current students have appeared in major film, TV and theatre roles and/ or gone on to train at prestigious drama schools, such as the VCA, NIDA and the Juilliard School of drama in New York.
We have a solid reputation in the industry, and a twenty year history. Our website includes a section that states the names of some of our past and present successful actors, and gives a list of the many major film, TV and theatre roles and shows that students have gone on to take part in.
This does not mean that you require previous experience for this course. It is open to all teenagers, however you do have to audition to obtain a role. We will send you a list of character descriptions, a script and an audition time, upon your application.
A great course for teenagers who really want to take acting seriously. You will have a real opportunity to practice the craft of acting and be seen by industry professionals, many of whom cast teenagers in film, TV and theatre.
Once you have read all of the details regarding this course, please email to organise an audition time. We will send you a list of character descriptions and a script. If you wish to audition, the audition dates are Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February, with times available from 1pm - 5pm

Drama School holiday program for primary school aged children aged between 7 and 12.
"A Play in Five Days". Play a part in a public performance of Alice In Wonderland!
Spend four hours daily (over the first four days) learning the skills of voice, improvisation, character work and script, while applying all these subjects to a "work in progress" performance on day five.
"Work in Progress" means that children will be able to take scripts with them on stage, and that the focus is on fun! (It would be unrealistic to expect a polished performance in this short space of time).
The above out line gives children something to work towards during the acting holiday program.
