    Mountain Bike Orienteering

    Dates: from 30 Nov -1 to 30 Nov -1

Mountain bike orienteering (MTBO) is a navigation sport suitable for participants of all ages and abilities. Like foot orienteering, the idea is to navigate your way around a series of checkpoints (controls) using a map and compass. Unlike foot orienteering, the idea is to ride a bike! The main difference is that in Australia, mountain bikes have to stay on tracks, so the style of navigation can be quite different to the cross-country navigation used in foot orienteering. Several courses are available, ranging from 10-30 km in length. At the top end of the field, competitors need good technical bike handling skills and the ability to navigate at speed. However, the shorter courses are easily achievable by beginners, non-mountain bikers and families. Nav Dash

    Dates: from 30 Nov -1 to 30 Nov -1

Nav Dash events, Orienteering WA's Sprint Orienteering Series are short distance (2-3.5 km's), usually held in a small, compact area with complex features, such as the buildings and passages of a university campus. While the navigation skills required are relatively easy – even for novices – at a slow jog or walking pace, the more serious competitors try to run their course at high speed. This makes the navigation much more demanding and it is easy to make small mistakes of a few seconds, which makes all the difference in these fast events! There will be several events in the 2015 Nav Dash Series at regular intervals during Autumn and Winter, culminating in the State Sprint Championships later in the year.

    Pure Amazing!

"Pure amazing! Laura is everything I wanted in a teacher, and I'm so glad she took me on. While working with her I've explored many different styles, techniques and approaches. She opened my eyes to a larger view of music as a whole and whether it be classical, musical theatre or even jazz, she really challenges me to be my best. Laura has given me and many other students, the skills and knowledge we need to pursue our careers into higher education and the industry. Laura is irreplaceable, a delight and I doubt you could find a better teacher than she." Cameron Steens - WAAPA (Bachelor of Music 2014) Challenging Me to Do Better When I first came to Laura in August 2010 I knew I wanted to sing but I didn't think I could. Now, a year later, I have improved and achieved more than I could have imagined. After just four months of singing with Laura I auditioned for WAAPA, although I was not offered a position, I did receive a call back which was more than I expected at the time. I've also begun work for the AMEB Grade 5 exam which I will perform this year. I went to New Yorkin 2011 to attend the Open Jar: Broadway Actor's Intensive Summer Course, which I successfully auditioned for earlier this year. None of this would have been possible without Laura's help. Being a multi-talented musician and performer herself, Laura's knowledge of language and music is invaluable. I look forward to every lesson with Laura because I can't wait to see what areas need work or what I'll be working on next. Laura's passion and enthusiasm when she teaches is infectious and her technical coaching is that of a perfectionist. I can't learn enough in one lesson! Laura always challenges me to do better and I know when she hands me new sheet music, which looks more difficult than the last, that with a bit of determination and hard work, I can do it. From the beginning, Laura has believed in me, and I can't thank her enough for giving me my own confidence in my abilities and a love of singing that will be with me forever. At last I got into WAAPA in 2012&2013 and now my first year of Bachelor of Music in 2014! I can honestly say I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Ema Gosnell

Worst customer service I have encountered in a long time. Things can go wrong with an order and it's all about both parties listening and putting themselves in each others' shoes, and hopefully sorting it out. Very unimpressed with the communication and way my order was handled. Needless to say, I won't be returning, there are plenty other places with delicious baked goods who treat their customers with respect and a smile.
