Description

Be happy. Be creative. BeXD! We run singing & drama, acting and dance classes, including daytime class for homeschool families, in Kenmore, Indooroopilly, Taringa, Toowong and Esk. Designed for ages 3 - 18 with adult classes for the parents too!

Our classes are about more than becoming a good actor, singer or dancer. Our classes are about feeling confident in your own skin, finding your voice, and forging lasting friendships with a like-minded community. We strive to uncover authentic expression and give our students the tools to share their ideas, feelings and creativity with the world, rather then trying to shape them into a cookie-cutter artist. Our instructors are passionate about fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all students and helping each individual develop tools for lifelong learning, creativity, and self-expression.

Nurturing creativity in kids is a hugely important part of what we do. Learning singing, drama and movement builds confidence and allows kids to learn essential communication and coordination skills and express themselves in a collaborative, fun and safe environment.

Our teen and adult classes are for students of all levels and backgrounds. Music and art is something that can bring anyone and everyone together, and our student community is one of our favourite parts of BeXD. In classes, students will learn be guided by expert teachers towards their individual creative goals.

June Musical Theatre Bootcamp

Age group accepted: 5-8 year olds, 8-10 year olds, 10-12 year olds, 12-15 year olds, 15-18 year olds

Join us for an unforgettable week of fun, music, friendship and creativity!

Over 4 Days, students will dive into acting, singing and dancing as they work on scenes, songs and choreography from Broadway & West End Musicals. At the end of the week, we'll culminate their work into a showcase for all friends and family to come and watch and support our young artists. The workshop will not be a full stage production of a single musical, but rather a montage of different musical highlights selected to learn and practice specific musical theatre skills.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Students will spend their days being immersed fully into all the three Performing Arts disciplines! We'll workshop scripts and monologues, learn choreography, sing songs and learn all about healthy vocal techniques, harmonies and projection. Students will receive one-on-one coaching on their vocal, dance and acting skills, as well as work in experience-level groups of each. The teachers also will perform in a special showcase and hold a Q&A session for students about the theatre and music industry during one lunchtime - this is a great opportunity for our older students who are interested in a career in the arts to ask any questions!

We’ll have morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks each day (food is not provided, please ensure students bring enough food with them). The show will be on Friday afternoon at 3PM.
