Ever wondered at what age you should encourage creativity in young children? The earlier the better is what experts have to say. Young children don’t always have the words to express themselves, but creative endeavours, such as painting, offer them another way to communicate. More than this, the activity makes them happy. Even young babies delight in mixing paint colours. Note: If you want to avoid the mess, place different coloured paints in a snap bag and let them push the colours around – no mess, no fuss. Once your child understands they don’t have to put everything they touch in their mouths, allowing them to finger paint (with non-toxic paints) is a fantastic activity. This promotes tactile exploration and helps them understand that it’s OK to get your hands messy – messes can be cleaned. Creative activities offer so many rewards aside from the obvious, such as having fun and promoting imagination. They also help with fine motor skills, problem-solving techniques, increased focus and gaining self-confidence. Don’t know where to start and can’t deal with the mess? Wacky Workshops is now offering private classes for kids from the age of three. These classes are customised to your child’s interests, allowing plenty of time for your child to experiment with different materials and techniques. Spots are limited for these classes, so be sure to book early.

PHYSIE builds confidence and poise but that’s not all… PHYSIE also develops good posture, strength, fitness, flexibility, co-ordination and balance through a regular program of exercise and dance. Our choreography is age-appropriately designed to teach the relationship of music to movement, rhythm and musical interpretation. We provide a new syllabus and music every year and run annual competitions for teams and individuals. You don’t have to compete but representing your club with your friends can be a lot of fun. The friends you make at physie will be friends for a lifetime. National finals for children are at the Olympic Park Sports Centre and for adults are held in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. When you book your child's birthday party with us, we will bake and ice a delectable birthday 6" cake for them absolutely free. Cakes can be vanilla or chocolate flavour, and iced in pink, aqua, yellow or white.
