Is your child being bullied? Are you feeling lost when your child tells you about a physical confrontation at school? Do you want a long lasting solution for this? It's a fact. Kids today aren't like kids 30-40 years ago. Today the school yard is a political war zone. Between schools that have their hands tied, and parents of other children who won't or can't control their own kids, you're feeling lost or bewildered when your child comes home upset from the day at school. Ragnarok Combat Academy teaches self protection to young people, but what we are praised for the most, is rebuilding young people into strong decisive leaders capable of taking action and capable of laughing off the seemingly dangerous people in the school playground. Our students are taught theory, how to put that theory into practice and then how to make sure that they are capable of self protection in hostile situations. We are offering parents and their children an opportunity for the insight into self protection for civilians. This is an event where you'll get a glimpse into what happens when your child is enrolled in a traditional martial arts school in the hopes of "self defence" education, and what the errors will mean for the student, their development and their mindset. $35 will entitle one parent and one child to join us in our interactive presentation A one time only event We ask that children attend wearing loose fitting clothing so they can take part in the presentation. Students will walk away with a free gift at the end of the night

It’s interesting that even in a world made smaller by the marvels of technology, many children are sheltered from the different cultures that make up this planet. Exposing them to these cultures early helps them to gain comprehension, acceptance and even admiration. It also helps to put their own lives in perspective. Children may come to realise how lucky they are compared to some. This can lead to increased feelings of compassion and gratitude. All necessary ingredients to create kinder kids. When introduced to other cultures at an early age, children begin to focus on our commonalities, rather than our differences. Just telling children about other cultures isn’t enough. They need to be encouraged to feel a connection. As always, the best results happen when the children are actively involved in their learning process. At Wacky's International Crafts Workshops, the children’s imaginations are fired up as they fill in their Wacky passports and prepare for take-off in Wacky’s magical plane. When that plane touches down at the mystery location, traditional music is playing and the students are told briefly about the highlights of their destination. Then it’s time for the cultural creativity to come in. A visit to Africa might see us making traditional masks and our own mini jungles. We might put the royal touch on some crowns for a visit to England or make the legendary unicorn that is the national animal of Scotland. By recreating inventions, the students get an appreciation of the contributions made by other cultures. By making games played by children from other countries, the students get an understanding that children everywhere enjoy the same kinds of activities. June is International Craft month at Wacky Workshops and each Saturday students will ‘visit’ a different country, ‘flying’ Wacky Airlines and have fun with cultural creativity. You can book your child into individual workshops or book all five and pay for four. Please book early as spots are limited. Individual classes cost $30 for each two-hour workshop, including all materials. Book all five and pay for four. A deposit is required to secure the booking.
