Play Events for Kids

Join us on in our rainforest garden as we gather to celebrate the season of Winter and explore all that the earth has to offer. For children 0-6 accompanied by an adult. Our weekly Little Explorers Nature Playgroup program which focuses on sensory nature play, nature themed art and craft activities, storytelling, songs, games, unstructured play and plenty of opportunities to build gross motor skills through climbing, balancing and movement. There is a different theme each week and a gentle rhythm guides our day. We aim to keep our sessions child-led, interest-based, experiential and in tune with the rhythms of the season. Simply put, there is no right or wrong way here and the learning is all in the process! We allow children the time, space and freedom to learn, explore and experiment at their own pace. Some of the activities include mud play, nature art and crafts, earth painting, nature stamping, creating with clay, gardening, sewing, baking, water and ice play, hammering and exploring in nature. Our playgroups allow parents to disconnect from their busy lives and re-connect with their child in nature - this is a wonderful time for you to sit back and enjoy watching your child play, while connecting to a community of like-minded parents who are supportive and welcoming. WHAT TO BRING This is an all weather outdoor playgroup so make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. While we are lucky to have a sheltered area available, we ask you to bring along wet weather gear - raincoats, gum boots, rain pants - a change of clothes (your child will get dirty!) a and a brimmed hat on sunny days. Playgroup will only be cancelled in the event of extreme weather. ​Please also bring with you water and a piece of fruit to share. Every Monday during school term, 9:30 - 11:30 am.

Hohnes Road Playhouse is available to hire out to non members for Children's Birthday Parties. With plenty of indoor space to play party games and outdoor activities like swings, trampoline and sandpit, Hohnes Road Playhouse is an ideal all-weather venue all year round. Hire includes the use of indoor spaces and toys, a fully equipped kitchen, undercover deck and fully secure outdoor spaces, including toys. ​ Hire Hohnes Road for your next party and enjoy a fun filled event with plenty to entertain the little people, and use our Playhouse as your fuss free approach to a party! Suited to: * 0-5 year old children, older siblings and families * parties of up to 40 guests * indoor and outdoor parties Benefits: * exclusive use of a safe and secure space for the duration of your party * easy access to the Diamond Valley Miniature Railway * adaptable spaces for your unique party set up * keep your own house mess-free! Cost: $220 Hire fee for Non Members (reduced rate for Friends of Members, or Current Members) $100 Bond (returned after inspection of Playhouse) $22 Public Liability Insurance A hire agreement must be signed, and terms and conditions met. The hire fee, refundable bond and Public Liability Insurance must be paid prior to the party - an invoice will be issued upon confirmation of the hire conditions. The Art Room and supplies are not included in the event hire. Hohnes Road Playhouse is a nut free facility. Consumption of alcohol is not permitted. For Members of Playhouse $80 + $100 Bond + $22 insurance For Friends of Members $170 + $100 Bond + $22 Insurance For General Public $220 + $100 Bond +$22 insurance Bond will be refunded on inspection of venue after the party. Some of the bond may be retained should there be cleaning, maintenance or repairs required.
