Kids Up Front run after school drama classes for children throughout the North Shore, Ryde, Inner West and Hills District in Sydney. Our after school drama lessons for junior students (Kindy to Year 2) participate in a themed lesson performed for each other each week. Our senior students (Year 3 +) develop performance skills in the first half of the year through improvisation drama games and scene work. In the second half of the year they collaborate with their teacher on a group devised piece to be performed at a real theatre. For many of our students this is the highlight of their year as they shine on stage in front of a live audience. Working together in drama means listening to each other and accepting and extending each others ideas thus helping children develop good social skills and confidence in presenting their own ideas. 'Tween Talk - Problem Solving without the DRAMA!' - Girls aged 9-12 Sunday 7th June | 9am - 12pm at Kawana Island Meeting Place A workshop designed to help your Tween navigate obstacles more effectively and handle her emotions better! This three hour workshop will help your tween explore these intense emotions and help them to understand the link between the emotional changes they experience and puberty. We will discuss the wide range of challenges and obstacles your tween faces daily and what sort of feelings and emotions these events bring to the surface. We will help your tween understand that feelings and emotions are normal, while highlighting that dealing with situations while emotional may not always elicit the best outcome. We will specifically teach your tween how to respond to situations, rather than be reactive, and provide them with a step-by-step process to accomplish this.
