Description

Zen Do Kai was founded in 1970, making the year 2020 our 50th anniversary.
Bob Jones, the founder of Zen Do Kai, believed that we are not one style, but all styles. Which gives meaning to the Japanese interpretation of Zen Do Kai being "the Best of Everything in Progression".
With over 1500 dojos across Australasia, New Zealand, Israel, Spain & Mexico. Zen Do Kai Freestyle is one of the largest Martial Arts organisations in Australia with Black Belts training all over the world.
Although the origins are traditional by nature there has been development and assimilation of some of the most up to date training and technical ideas from around the world.

  Awesome and Fun

  After being involved with Zen Do Kai Tasmania for approx. 10yrs, I cannot speak more highly of the instructors and the training provided. My 8yr old daughter is actively training as well. The growth in her confidence since she has started training is unbelievable. I recommend any of the Zen Do Kai Clubs throughout Australia to anyone young or old.

  Zen Do Kai

  My children have been attending the Mount Nelson class for approx 1 year. They really enjoy the variety of martial arts skills that they are learning. They also learn about persistence and commitment to improving themselves physically and mentally. The instructors are extremely friendly and engaging.

  Garry and the instructors made me and my kids feel welcome from day one and create a family based club environment that encourages everyone to progress and grow in the world of martial arts. Love the training too!

  Fun & Function

  I have been training with Zen Do Kai for over 10 years and have loved every minute of it, now my three kids are also hooked. The personal development I have experienced in both myself and my kids because of Zen Do Kai has been amazing. The increased confidence, resilience, self-control and respect for others that we have experienced due to Zen Do Kai is truly wonderful.

  Training with my dad Sensei Garry has been a great honour. It has helped me with all aspects of my life, especially my confidence and fitness, I have enjoyed training Martial Arts and recommend it to anyone who wants to get fitter, get stronger, or just try something new.

  I have found the training instruction from Sensei Garry and other instructors invaluable. You always feel welcome at any of the training sessions and everyone I have had contact with, have been so helpful and informative on aspects of Zen Do Kai martial arts.
