Sophie Mill Artist and Art Tutor

I am a focused and committed professional Artist and Art Tutor. Apart from my extensive Art training, I hold Primary and Senior Education support certificates with Early Childhood certificate 111 to ensure excellence within the art tutoring practise .

My dedication to the arts (particulary oil painting techniques) is to ensure our next generation are encouraged and enthralled. This was highlighted when the NSW State Governement offered the 'Creative Kids' provider certificate to me.

The objectives of the program are to: From January 2019, NSW parents, guardians and carers of young people aged 4.5 to 18 years can apply for a $100 voucher to use for creative and cultural learning activities outside of the school curriculum. The voucher can be redeemed towards payment of memberships or fees with an approved provider registered with the Creative Kids program.

My primary concern is to ensure all students feel a great sense of belongingness, self-esteem, and self-actualisation while being in my class and long after they have left my presence.

Aside from my experience operating my own studio for the last 20 years, I have had 15 years of exhibiting experience within Australia, USA, and Italy; I was engaged on a continual basis by fine art galleries. Today, I am employed by the educational system as an 'Artist in Resident', and I tutor all age groups in oil painting techniques (Renaissance through to Contemporary times) and drawing techniques at my private Art School, Hamilton South.
