Family oriented School of Martial arts. We teach Okinawa karate, and Kobudo weapons of self-defence. We specialise in self defence skills for men, women and children.
Our School is the oldest in the area and operates since 1973.

    Highly recommended!
    My partner joined Sensei Alexander mid way through the pandemic last year and his joy and enthusiasm for training was contagious. I have always has the desire to practice martial arts so it didn't take long for me to join as well. The training is hard but fun and most certainly worthwhile, the benefits are clear and as a woman self defence is very important. I thoroughly enjoy every class as there is always something new to learn and experience. I highly recommend Sensei Alexander and his Kenyukan Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate-Kobudo School!

    True Martial Arts
    I have recently started my 6 year old son and its the best thing i have done for him. It has helped him so much with his motor skills and he absolutely loves it! He has made many friends already. Sensei de Araya is tough but cares very deeply about the improvement of his students, he is definitely not in it for the money, he just loves what he does.

    Traditional Karate
    If you looking for a Traditional Karate school and not the fancy ones then this is the one for you. I joined with my my son and loving it, should have done it earlier. The Dojo caters not just for kids but adults too. Great way to get fit and a bit of self defence too.

    Authentic Traditional Okinawa Karate
    After a 20+ year hiatus from Karate practice, I decided to return end of last year. Finding the right dojo and most importantly the right teacher was always going to be a challenge as my previous Goju Ryu experience was one full of wonderful memories and high standards. I consider myself fortunate to have found Sensei Alexander. Under his instruction, my love for Goju Ryu has been reignited. In a world full of commercial martial arts dojos, he is truly a rare find. I am grateful to find a teacher that pays close attention to your development and takes pride in teaching his students, not only martial arts but instills the essence of old values that make Traditional Okinawa Goju Ryu special. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sensei Alexander to begin or continue your martial arts journey.

    Traditional Okinawan Training
    Great location. Very professional and knowledgeable teacher. Fun, valuable and informative. Caters for all ages and abilities. Proper Karate teaching, not like other schools which are only out to take your cash. If you are looking for a karate school, this is the best place you can choose.

    My kids have join this karate dojo foe over a year now and they love it. They have learnt so much karate techniques and skills and are still going. They've even talked me into joining the dojo so I did and it is the best thing I've ever done for myself. So I began my journey in the Dojo for about a year now and I'm feeling great and fitter for my age. With a highly skilled and friendly Sensei and friendly people in the Dojo I highly recommend anybody at all ages to join the this Dojo and I promise you won't regret it.

    Family Time
    We come as a family of 4 and we do this to spend time with our 10 yr old and 7 yr old we also do this for many other reasons such as fitness ,discipline, co ordination and confidence. We love coming to Sensei 's Karate class as he is amazing teacher who also has a wealth of knowledge.
