My name is Tim Barnes, I am the owner and head instructor of Empty Hands Martial Arts (EHMA). We have been teaching martial arts to kids and adults in the North Eastern suburbs of Adelaide since March 2008. I been training since 2000, and have black belts in Chinese Kenpo, American Kenpo, Koshindo Ju Jitsu and Kyusho Ju Jitsu. I have also trained in kali, and I have a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am a 3rd Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo, under Associate Master of the Arts Graham Lelliott (California, USA).

At EHMA, we teach the Art of American Kenpo Karate, developed by GM Ed Parker. Mr Parker taught numerous celebrities, including Elvis Presley! We run classes for kids (4-12), teens and adults, as well as women only sessions.

All our instructors teaching kids classes have current DECS working with children checks, as well as Senior First aid certificates.

We currently have classes at three locations:

Monday (Hillcrest Community Centre, 27-31 Queensborough Ave, Hillcrest)
4:30-5:15 pm (kids beginners)
5:15-6:00 pm (kids - intermediate)
6:00-6:45 pm (kids - advanced)
7:00-8:00 pm (Teen/adults beginners/intermediate)
8:00-9:00 pm (Adults advanced)

Tuesday (Pedare Junior Campus, 150 Bicentennial Drive)
5:00-5:45pm (kids - beginners)
5:45-6:30pm (kids - coloured belts)
6:30-7:30pm (teen/adults - beginners/intermediate)

Thursdays (Pedare Christian College - Junior School, 150 Bicentennial Drive)
4:30-5:15 pm (kids beginners)
5:15-6:00 pm (kids - intermediate)
6:00-6:45 pm (kids - advanced)
7:00-8:00 pm (Teen/adults beginners/intermediate)

Saturdays (Golden Grove Primary School, 140 Bicentennial Drive)
8:30-9:15 am (Family beginners/intermediate)*
9:15-9:45 am (Sparring class)
9:45-10:30 am (Open advanced)

*parents, you can come and train at the same time as your kids in our Family classes!
