First Taekwondo is a traditional, non-competitive martial art and therefore reaches much further than mere Self Defence effectiveness. The discipline, mental training and varied techniques of First Tae kwon-do also provide the grounds for engendering in the practitioner a strong sense of confidence, fortitude, compassion, humility and resolve. First Tae Kwon Do Thornlie teaches a non-competitive style of martial arts which ingrains students of any age with strong values of discipline, respect and perseverance through the commitment and dedication shown by the instructors at the branch. There is a strong family atmosphere at Thornile with many of the students and instructors being family members as well as a range of ages from 5 years old to 50 years old. The instructors are experienced teachers and leaders and encourage students to always strive for excellence in everything that they do. I would highly recommend First Tae Kwon Do Thornile for any families wishing to do a physical activity together or to children who are looking to improve their self-confidence and discipline.

Family friendly

My 2 youngest daughters joined First Taewkondo Thornlie over a year ago . It was highly recommended from a friend . We wanted our daughters to be strong in both body and mind , as well as build self confidence. They are growing and developing new skills all the time . They have developed great self confidence and discipline. They love challenging their physical abilities on a regular basis and setting new goals. I also joined with my daughters just over 6 months ago , and thoroughly enjoy the challenge. Instructor Beard , and all the black belt instructors are truly amazing ,helpful and very approachable, with a great knowledge of the art . Thank you
