Wacky Workshops is all about fostering creativity and imagination in children. This is something needed more than ever as the temptations of technology take over from the wonders of making things by hand. Research has shown that children who are exposed to arts and crafts and the materials to make them actually learn to read and write better and become more resilient as adults. Using imagination and creativity is vital to children’s mental health. According to clinical psychologist Dr Ben Michaelis, ... Read more getting children to focus on the products of their imagination is vital to their individual mental health and the world. The effort that we use when we are actually making things helps us to learn new and innovative ways of thinking. A 2010 study, which examined results from around 300,000 creativity tests since 1990, showed that today’s children are less likely to produce unique and unusual ideas. We can counter this by offering a safe and friendly place to stretch their creativity. By ...

    Wacky Workshops International Crafts

    From 02-06-2018 to 30-06-2018

It’s interesting that even in a world made smaller by the marvels of technology, many children are sheltered from the different cultures that make up this planet. Exposing them to these cultures early helps them to gain comprehension, acceptance and even admiration. It also helps to put their own lives in perspective. Children may come to realise how lucky they are compared to some. This can lead to increased feelings of compassion and gratitude. All necessary ingredients to create kinder kids. When introduced to other cultures at an early age, children begin to focus on our commonalities, rather than our differences. Just telling children about other cultures isn’t enough. They need to be encouraged to feel a connection. As always, the best results happen when the children are actively involved in their learning process. At Wacky's International Crafts Workshops, the children’s imaginations are fired up as they fill in their Wacky passports and prepare for take-off in Wacky’s magical plane. When that plane touches down at the mystery location, traditional music is playing and the students are told briefly about the highlights of their destination. Then it’s time for the cultural creativity to come in. A visit to Africa might see us making traditional masks and our own mini jungles. We might put the royal touch on some crowns for a visit to England or make the legendary unicorn that is the national animal of Scotland. By recreating inventions, the students get an appreciation of the contributions made by other cultures. By making games played by children from other countries, the students get an understanding that children everywhere enjoy the same kinds of activities. June is International Craft month at Wacky Workshops and each Saturday students will ‘visit’ a different country, ‘flying’ Wacky Airlines and have fun with cultural creativity. You can book your child into individual workshops or book all five and pay for four.

How to help children learn more through creativity

This is sad news, for the kids and the world in general because using imagination and creativity is vital to children’s individual mental health. It is also important for the world, as these are our future leaders, policy makers, inventors, scientists and researchers.   How children actually learn more through creativity Some people believe children who are not regularly exposed to art and the materials to create it do not read and write as well as those who are. According...

    23-01-2016 by Kathy Wright

Denis from Beta Learning is an excellent coach and helped me and my daughter with preparation of a presentation we had to make. He taught us things we had no idea and it really helped when we had to do our speech. Highly recommend him for his coaching manner and knowledge.

Answer from Beta Learning on 03-11-2016:
Thank you very much for your review. We are glad we could hell out with your daughters apprehension and shyness when it comes to public speaking. She definitely came out of her shell by the end of it!
