Have enrolled my grandson for October in Armadale . I took him to it at Oakford and he really loved it but had to cease because of circumstances. I love that its more organised than the ordinary playgroups where kids run around crazy. There is more structure at Montoressi. Which makes it more peacefull.

Answer from Peaceful Rooms Montessori Centre on 18-09-2018:
That is so true Judy! I often explain to families that we don't structure the time (as is often the case in non-Montessori settings with children being told what to do, when, and for how long), but we do structure the environment to create a sense of order. This allows children to make their own choices about what they will do and for how long, which is more peaceful for all! I can't wait to have your precious family join us again in our cute new home. Not long to go now! x Alana.

    A relaxed and peaceful environment

    07-04-2018 by Janis

I have been attending Peaceful Rooms Montessori Playgroup for two terms now with my son’s who just turned two and four months. Alana has truly created a peaceful environment where children are free to explore the beautiful activities and Montessori materials at their own pace. My two year old is engaged from the time we arrive until we leave, and I’m sure he would stay longer if he could. My four month old loves relaxing under the Munari mobile and watching the older children play. It has also been an opportunity for me to learn more about the Montessori approach.

Answer from Peaceful Rooms Montessori Centre on 09-04-2018:
Janis thank you so much for letting us know about your experience, it is lovely to know what you and the kiddies are getting from being part of our Montessori community. I look forward to many more terms ahead with your lovely family! x Alana.

    Fantastic Playgroup

    10-01-2017 by Leigh

I started this playgroup with some basic Montessori knowledge, and Alana was always great at helping me figure out how to teach the kids to use the toys/activities/jobs. Peaceful Rooms playgroup is great safe space for newbies like me and those who have used Montessori as a model for educating their children from a newborn stage. The space is beautiful and the other mums are so friendly. I love it and will keep coming back.

Answer from Peaceful Rooms Montessori Centre on 30-01-2018:
Thanks for your feedback Leigh! :)

Answer from Peaceful Rooms Montessori Centre on 09-01-2017:

    Mountain Bike Orienteering

    Dates: from 30 Nov -1 to 30 Nov -1

Mountain bike orienteering (MTBO) is a navigation sport suitable for participants of all ages and abilities. Like foot orienteering, the idea is to navigate your way around a series of checkpoints (controls) using a map and compass. Unlike foot orienteering, the idea is to ride a bike! The main difference is that in Australia, mountain bikes have to stay on tracks, so the style of navigation can be quite different to the cross-country navigation used in foot orienteering. Several courses are available, ranging from 10-30 km in length. At the top end of the field, competitors need good technical bike handling skills and the ability to navigate at speed. However, the shorter courses are easily achievable by beginners, non-mountain bikers and families. Nav Dash

    Dates: from 30 Nov -1 to 30 Nov -1

Nav Dash events, Orienteering WA's Sprint Orienteering Series are short distance (2-3.5 km's), usually held in a small, compact area with complex features, such as the buildings and passages of a university campus. While the navigation skills required are relatively easy – even for novices – at a slow jog or walking pace, the more serious competitors try to run their course at high speed. This makes the navigation much more demanding and it is easy to make small mistakes of a few seconds, which makes all the difference in these fast events! There will be several events in the 2015 Nav Dash Series at regular intervals during Autumn and Winter, culminating in the State Sprint Championships later in the year.
