Kids Up Front run after school drama classes for children throughout the North Shore, Ryde, Inner West and Hills District in Sydney. Our after school drama lessons for junior students (Kindy to Year 2) participate in a themed lesson performed for each other each week. Our senior students (Year 3 +) develop performance skills in the first half of the year through improvisation drama games and scene work. In the second half of the year they collaborate with their teacher on a group devised piece to be performed at a real theatre. For many of our students this is the highlight of their year as they shine on stage in front of a live audience. Working together in drama means listening to each other and accepting and extending each others ideas thus helping children develop good social skills and confidence in presenting their own ideas. Developing confidence, creativity and communication skills are very important life skills whatever path in life they choose to take. This allows the student to be free and creative, also to enjoy what they are painting, whilst developing decision making skills, and building self-belief and esteem, this enables them to gain personal growth. A basic materials list is required, children work with acrylic paints on canvas. My teaching style has aided me many students of all ages, (from 5 yo to adult) many to win awards, further arts study and/or to become selling artists. Our 'Just Be YOU!' workshop has been developed to introduce the idea of self-esteem and self-confidence to our younger Tweens. During this short workshop we will explore: * What self-esteem and self-confidence is * What positive self-talk is and why it is so important * Ideas to fill up your self-esteem bucket! * We will discuss why comparisons are unhelpful * We will explore with your daughter what makes her special and unique. She will complete the workshop feeling inspired about who she is and understand the importance of not comparing herself to others.
