It's time to start off the new year with an amazing new Joy of Singing Group for kids (5 to 8 year olds). The classes provide an opportunity for kids to come together and express themselves through song and singing games and exercises in a safe and supportive group environment, unhindered by outer pressures and expectations. During the lessons we will use fun and engaging exercises, amazing supportive songs, movement, sound, rhythm, melody, breathing, posture, improvisation and performance ... Read more to support kids in the development of their own unique expression. The group also supports kids to understand, care for and respect themselves and each other while working in a group. The Joy of Singing Group for Kids will include - Fun singing and expression games and exercises Developing pitch, rhythm, posture and movement Engaging with other kids Singing amazing, supportive songs Connecting to your natural presence and confidence Writing your own unique songs Connecting to your true voice Being yourself in a group environment The classes will begin on Saturday 9th Feburary at 9am - 10am and completing on Saturday 30th March. Drama develops confident, creative young people. Children build vocal skills, physical expression and imagination through the weekly classes – and have lots of fun working together. Vocal and physical communication is developed so our young people can be seen and heard clearly on the stage. Children often work in groups, and sometimes in pairs to create devised theatre pieces and present them back to the class. These can often be fun and quirky, or more serious pieces – depending on the children’s ... Read more imaginations! Each class begins with a vocal and physical warm-up. The class includes: • Vocal exercises in projection, clarity and diction • Movement skills for physical expression • Exercises in relaxation and breathing • Focus and communication – preparing students for improvisation and the ability to present theatrical work with power and clarity • Stage techniques – the basics needed to be seen and heard on stage • Play production – creative and problem-solving skills are developed. Sometimes this class touches on script-work Drama can also be a great way to develop confidence and creativity with other, like-minded children.

An accessible drama class for 12 young people aged 14-26 with an intellectual disability. Participating with others in fun inclusive drama exercises and improvisational games gives young people an outlet for their creative expression, builds confidence and develops communication skills. The course will culminate in a short performance for family and friends at the year’s end.

I will be running art classes in Term 1 at Bacchus Marsh Primary School on Tuesdays 3.30pm-4.45pm ($20 per child per class) and on Fridays 4pm-5pm($17 per child per class) at Woodlea Community Hub in Rockbank. In February we will be looking at self-portraits of some well known artists from the past and present and creating portraits of our selves with a range of materials.
