The ‘Hilanders’ Rugby Union Club was founded in 1987 to bring Rugby Union to the Tablelands region for both junior and senior players. Today the ‘Hilanders’ are the only rugby union club representing the Tablelands, we are committed and passionate about getting the community on board to help grow rugby union in our great region. Hilanders currently competes in the Far North Queensland (FNQ) Rugby competition and are the only club not based on the coast, this again makes us unique and proud of our region. Our club is also the only one in the competition that owns its own clubhouse located at Evans Street Park, Atherton.
The club has a strong focus of Inclusiveness and Fair Play which is highlighted in out our five philosophies detailed below:
