Dates: from 27 Jul 2020 to 19 Sep 2020
Need confidence and creativity? Want to build your performance muscles?
Weekly Drama does this...and much more.
We believe in developing these skills through bringing young people together with theatre artists. While they're learning about voice, movement and performance, they're also asking deep questions about the world they live in...and working towards putting this on stage in an engaging, fun and exhilarating way! What better way to make friends than through crafting stories and performing together?
- 1 class a week for 8 weeks
- Trial Classes - enrol in these on our website
- Classes are between 1 - 2 hrs long, depending on age groups
- Small class sizes - classes are capped at 16 (sometimes smaller)
- Teaching Artists are industry professionals
- Online and In-Person classes available
Each term students complete modules. For our regular classes this is one drama module (such as Grimms Fairytales), and one skills based module (such as voice, movement or scripts) each term. Our Express Drama program covers the drama module only.
We want to give students as many opportunities as possible - to perform in shows, have careers in the arts, to be a part of the MSTYP community, develop a life-long love for theatre, and make friends for life.
Our graduates can be found throughout theatre companies and creative industries in Australia and internationally. They include Jordan Hare (actress in TV and film, including The Secret Daughter), Ava Madon (High 5 and The Pack down on ABC ME), Ayesha Madon (Fangirls - ATYP and Belvoir), Claire Nasher (poet), Linden Wilkinson (performer and playwright), Jim Southwell (performer and writer), Keith Agius (Bell Shakespeare, Sport for Jove), Terry Ryan (actor, puppeteer, writer), Kylie Harris (creator of Midnight Feast), and many more!
